  • Biden: Tough times but hopeful signs in economy

    Joe Biden says...........

the highest unemployment rate in more than 25 years underscores the tough times many Americans still face, but that the slowing rate of job losses reflects some "signs of hope" too.

Very true on the unemployment rate Joe, however I fail to see the signs of hope you are reffering to. Yes--as the Nations unemployment rate jumped to over 9 percent, the Layoffs did slow down. The question that remains--How bad is the unemployment rate, How many people have run out of their benefits that are no longer being counted that would raise that number even higher--yet still recieve no pay Check. Of course the Layoffs will diminish over time--the company's are only going to lay off so many, then the numbers will decline, this is not a sign of "Hope" for those seeking employment--it is a sign that the companies have laid off what they need to "To Stay Afloat". The slowdown in layoffs is indeed pleasant news, yet is not a reflection of Policy, as it is companies adjusting to hardships and the lack of those no longer counted as unemployed--which would raise the "Rate" considerably!
